Music I like
I love learning about new music. My tastes are eclectic. I dig jazz, pop, folk, experimental, and, of course, the whole range of electronic music. I try to learn about the big names in electronic music, but I also am very active in the Calgary electronic music production scene too. (Shout out to my peeps at Oscill8!)
What am I listening to these days?
Here's a random collection of some of the faves! I've been enjoying lately most of these are electronic music, but not all of them. It kind of depends on my mood!
I've been really enjoying Ukranian DJ (based in Montreal), Miss Monique. Very danceable and very prolific!
Adriatique are amazing music producers. I particularly love the opening of this set...in frickkin Hatshepsut, Egypt!
The master of live synth for his sets! so good! I also love that he's an old man just like me!
These producers create hypnotic melodic techno! Fricking love them so hard! This set under a bridge in Belgrade is particulary hot!
I discovered Turkish DJ/ producer Elif over the pandemic. She has amazing middle eastern grooves!
Acid Pauli is this amazing producer/ DJ who creates absolutely unique, driving, hypnotic sets.
What local acts do I dig?
Full disclosure: I am on the board of a music collective here in Calgary, Oscill8, so I tend to go to all of our gigs and a bunch of other gigs around town. Some of these folks are my pals, or others are just people that I really dig.

How eclectic can I get?
Back in my early years, I was heavily into jazz. I actually had a jazz radio show on CJ SW for about 10 years. But I also love a lot of other stuff: experimental, pop, folk, and rock'n'roll from 60’s to present.
